Restore Healing Community
MISSION STATEMENT
Restore Healing Community exists to:
Build up our healing community through biblical discipleship and growth which strengthens our ministries.
Offer genuinely Spirit led worship, where the gifts of the Holy Spirit are encouraged and exercised by members, and where the Holy Spirit is sought and given room to manifest His power as He wills. No spiritual or emotional manipulation, just prayer, faith and openness.
Grow in exercising Jesus' ministry of healing. This is holistic ministry to body, soul and spirit. We will grow in bringing His healing to broken or hurting relationships, and abused, addictive or confused sexuality.
Offer healing ministry through groups such as 'Salti' (sexual addicts learning trust and integrity), Wives Support Group, Women At The Well (for women working through relationship issues), Living Waters (for people persuing sexual and relational wholeness), Embracing Life (ministering to the terminally ill or those with life defining illnesses, physical, emotional or mental) and other courses.
Provide a grace led Christian Community, where subtle conformity to law, and pressure to serve, tithe, or attend is absent, but where these Christian practices occur in response to our love for Jesus.
Create a place of rest where Christians who have been burnt out, disillusioned with the church, or simply need time to BE, rather than do, can find a home or sojourn.
Proclaim Jesus to people seeking faith, spiritual enlightenment, esacpe or recovery from life's traps.
Encourage, support and pray for members who are involved in diverse gospel ministries beyond the church, as outreach in work, neighbourhood, specialised ministries, or national/ international mission.
Explore ways of meeting the spiritual needs of searching/ secular/ anti-religious/ stressed Australians with the gospel.
VISION STATEMENT
To grow as disciples of Jesus, in Spirit-led Worship and Healing Ministry. We will -
Foster spiritual growth through biblical teaching to
- mature disciples, enabling each to reign in life through grace, to overcome the challenges of the world and life
- strengthen love within our community, to be light to others, and so to grow as a community.
Persue greater depths of Spirit led worship, encouraging gifts and freedom for the Holy Spirit to move and manifest as He wills, in Sunday worship and all group meetings. Come Holy Spirit, come!
Re-present Jesus, offering His ministry of healing to the church and the world. Through six offerings:
- Sunday afternoon: offering healing prayer with the annointing of oil.
- Sunday night: offering a quiet reflective ministry of healing, with waiting prayer, and Holy Communion.
- Small mid-week groups: Home groups, or specially oriented support or discipleship groups.
- Healing prayer offered by small teams to individuals.
- Spontaneous opportunities for healing prayer that any of our members have with others in work, neighbourhood, family.
- Mists of Mercy resting retreats.
Our ministry of healing is evangelistic (outreach) and sanctifying (bringing wholeness to Christians).
Relate and celebrate our unity in Christ with the other congregations of our church in mission, government, social and
occassional worship activities.
